"First of all," says Dr. Coudray, "People’s perception of acupuncture is that we mostly treat pain. Most people are not aware that acupuncture can make them calm, relaxed, and help them through tough emotional times. People are not familiar with the powerful emotional support that acupuncture can offer."
Acupuncture is an excellent alternative therapy for many other health issues such as depression, fertility, headache, back pain, IBS, digestion problems, PMS,pain from auto injuries and even quitting smoking.
The most common questions asked are about the needles used. Most people have encountered hypodermic needles and sewing needles. Both types are gigantic compared to the ones used for acupuncture. In fact, five acupuncture needles could easily fit inside a hypodermic needle! Most people do not feel anything and experience a variety of post-session feelings, which range from energized to a deep sense of relaxation and well-being.
The ultra-fine, sterile needles are inserted at special points on your body along the energy pathways. These are known as meridians. Your energy pathways or meridians can sometimes experience a "log jam" and energy flow is restricted. The needles help loosen the logjam and allow energy to circulate properly.
If you are still unsure about acupuncture needles then try Dr. Coudray’s needless treatment using electrical stimulation.
Come join Dr.Coudray on Thursdays for a mini session known as ‘Acupuncture Happy Hour.’ This is a 20 minute treatment session for $25. Most insurances are accepted. To make an call 352 394 7771.
